Nebraska, a London-based band described by the Guardian guide as '21st century Smiths-a-likes' have just signed a management deal with Dreaded Sunny Day management (all Smiths fanatics then!) and an album production deal with Dave Fowler of London's rogue studios.

The band's sound is definitely Smiths/Morrissey influenced with other elements of electronica and angular rock in the mix too.

The band are currently receiving lashings of attention as they are spearheading the NME-hyped 'new cross scene'.

Their forthcoming dates include:
Wednesday 16 June,The Underworld, Camden
Tuesday 29 June, Paradise Bar, New Cross
Saturday 24 July, Sound of the Suburbs Festival, Crystal Palace

They are in the process of recording their debut single. More info? mail nebraskaband@hotmail.com.

Hmm, could be interesting to hear, though I'll hold off judgement for the moment. Let's wait and see if anything good comes of this!
