Morrissey meets stand-up Northern comedian Peter Kay

This was in Tuesday's The Sun newspaper (Link) - FASCINATING if true!

MORRISSEY snubbed the trendy bars of Manchester after his comeback show in the city on Saturday – to sneak off for a pint with comic PETER KAY. The singer appeared at a bash thrown by his label Sanctuary at The Lowry Hotel but after five minutes he jumped in a limo to meet his pal in cheap ’n’ cheerful Chorlton.

For those who don't know, Peter Kay is a very successful youngish stand-up comedian from the North of England (actually Bolton near Manchester) who specialises in simple observational comedy. His website is www.peterkay.co.uk

        There's all that blubber for starters. He may be considered funny by others, but he's not my cup of Lipton's - Kay that is!

          I'd love to see him out and about with Harry Hill, surely he's perfect for Moz...fits in well with the Carry On, Jimmy Clitheroe camp. I'd kill to see harry's 'stars in your eyes' performance..almost as good as seeing the man himself I'd imagine.

            I couldn't really envisage moz liking phoenix nights, there's not many criminals in it. Peter Kay has gone a step up from appearing on satge with the turgid starsailor though. Next time he should met johnny vegas. or, evn more fun, Vic Reeves... fists drawn at closing time.
