which is a relief after the awful one in The Guardian. Moz coming up with some shrewd comments, witty observations etc without going over the same old stuff and thankfully there's hardly anything on the c**** c***.
The Ordinary Boys are playing Meltdown (haven't yet heard Moz talk directly about them), he mentions how the Germans feel proud about their flag so why can't the Brits, 'America is not' features the line "I love you America" because otherwise he'd have been arrested (!), his thoughts on the Madrid bombing (obviously quite a recent interview) and many other interesting insights. Well done Moz!

Gosh, Morrissey is really dumb when it comes to international affairs! It's fair for me to comment on his comments because he's the SINGER that's putting them out there.

Morrissey is a gay, black woman...at least, I think those are lyrics to his song bashing the US...saying that we won't be a good country until we have a gay, black woman as president. What?

Morrissey, go back to doing what you do best and shut up already about a topic which you obviously have not been challenged on in debate.

I was fascinated to learn that he had all the Smiths covers as posters in his room at one point or another, growing up!!!

And, I guess I have to say it, the journalist does bandy about the words "boyfriend" and "sex," so to one journalist at least, Morrissey's sexuality seems crystal clear.

..that The Guardian interview wasn't much cop at all (except for the depression quote, which he expounded on in this interview).

Fascinating answers to very good questions! The interviewer is obviously intelligent, but calling the praise given Vauxhall "rubbish" is a bullshit statement. Couple of nasty typos, too ("Boyfriend on the Payroll"?, not to mention the title gaff). The throaway comment about the excised interview answers being about "boyfriends and sex" made the interviewer sound like a catty little bitch.

Still, an excellent interview with lots of tidbits we've never heard before. I loved how Morrissey flipped the answer to the Johnny Marr question. His mind is as sharp as a needle in your eye!

A sub-text that Morrissey is Gay, a portrayal that a question about Women under 30 he finds attractive is couched in the manner of 'as if!' and yet this is contradicted by another recent article where Morrissey states that all the people he has ever been in love with have been women.

with another Moz interview due in the NME tomorrow, the KROQ interview, Tokion, ID, The Guardian...I can see that there will be much picking of holes in everything Morrissey says.

An interesting contradiction was in the KROQ interview when he said he doesn't follow fashions and isn't interested in being part of scenes or anything that is "trendy-wendy" and yet in I-D he says that trendy people are the most important people in the world.

Not sure his remark about a bomb going off in a UK shopping centre very soon was needed...I think we all know it's inevitable at some point but prefer not to say the words...

I went out and bought I-D this evening. Ostensibly to read the Morrissey interview again, which I glanced at briefly at lunchtime today on the scanned pages in here.

Forget Morrissey, it's Marianne Faithful's interview that's most interesting!

While Morrissey takes the biscuit for up-his-own-arse pretentiousness - (did he really rush out to buy American GQ every month back in the late 70's after he cashed his dole cheque at the local post office? Didn't he have more urgent and pressing purchases to make than a glossy style mag from the USA? Like say Nico's back catalogue, or a pair of socks and a pair of kecks, or a tin of Kite-Kat for his pussy cats?) - Marianne Faithful should stand on the podium this summer and claim the gold medal. Her head is so far up there they'll have to put the medal around her ankles.

Here she is on her royal lineage:

Then get this. Apparently Allen Ginsberg named her:

'Professor of Poetics of the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poets'.

I bet she was escorted swiftly into nightclubs; and got instant major discounts at Gucci and Pucci with that sobriquet, not to mention free dinners at The Ivy.

Did he call her that whilst she was a smack junkie on the on The Wall in Soho thirty odd years ago or was he actually there when he said it? Who knows. I bet she must have been staring at the stars on many a night after getting her 'Smack Hits' back in those days. Ach, the poetry of it all.

So since we now know she's a liar, does that mean that the above story about a Mars bar NOT melting right up there between her legs in the company of the Rolling Stones (living and dead) is false?

Stupid British magazine, stupid American distribution distribution system... the APRIL i-D just arrived here...and all the British newspapers come without the magazine sections. Honestly, I'm sure that you brits aren't having half the problems getting US mags. We loved him even when you were calling him a racist and your judges were maligning his character and this is the thanks we get!!!!! I'll say it again: grrr!
