Classic shots capture band at its peak

Excerpt:

Two decades ago, Stephen Wright was, by his own account, "living like a student" with four friends in a house outside of Manchester, with photography more a hobby than a profession. He'd taken a few photographs of bands performing and had sent them to Rough Trade records. Smiths frontman Morrissey took a shine to the shots and soon after, Wright received a phone call from Rough Trade asking the unknown shutterbug to photograph the Smiths, who at the time had a pair of albums to their credit and were on the cusp of releasing what is arguably their masterpiece The Queen Is Dead. On a dreary Manchester day, Wright and a friend snapped a series of photographs of the group that are among the most iconic images of the Smiths to have been taken during the group's short run.

    Exposure (Score:1)
Fun read, knowing those pictures of The Smiths were processed in his Bedroom seems apt somehow.

    From the Article:
"Basically Morrissey gave that opportunity to a fan instead of a professional. He gave a chance to someone who probably should've had to go out and get a real job."

    Awww the big lug!
