Universal Poplab feat. Håkan Hellström cover "We Hate It..."

Martin writes:

Swedish synth pop debutants Universal Poplab have included a disco influenced cover version of Morrissey's "We hate it when our friends become successful" on their freshly released debut album.

The cover is actually really good and features Swedish pop phenomenon Håkan Hellström (also one of Swedens more famous Morrissey fans) och backing vocals.

A short taste of the song can be downloaded from the band's site.

Swedish Håkan Hellström together with Universal Poplab have done a cover of "We hate it when our friends become successful". I heard it on Swedish national radio yesterday:

That was a hideous version. it sounds like Morrissey if he were ever to go euro pop. I'm away to take a long hot shower - i can still smell it on my skin.

The only Universal Poplab/Håkan Hellström cover of a Moz song I've ever heard made me sick for at least two days.
Compared to this shitty synth thing that's supposed to be Whiwofbs, Spice Girls sounds like Mozart.

That song will haunt my dreams forever - having failed to get the smell off my skin last night, after listening to this soundclip of intense evil. i will now dip my flabby body into a tank of bleach. whilst simultaneously rubbing my ears and eyes with asbestos tinged gloves. why god why!!!
