Elton John rumored for Jobriath tribute at Morrissey's Meltdown Festival

Popbitch the rumour-mill circular have think they have the inside track on the acts on at the Meltdown Festival for which Moz is art director.

Given Moz's previous "bring me the head of Elton John" comments at one of the last tours UK shows, can this be real???

Can Morrissey make Elton even gayer?

Smiths' legend Morrissey is running this year's
Meltdown music festival and it's set to be a
corker. Elton John is being lined up to do
a tribute set to Jobriath, the world's first
openly gay pop star. Launched in 1973 by Elektra
Records his career flopped and Jobriath died a
recluse in the Chelsea Hotel ten years later.
As gay pop culture has finally started to
        flourish commercially since Jobriath's death,
we salute Morrissey and Elton for stopping to
        honour this tragic, unknown pioneer.

A Jobriath tribute is long overdue. It does not surprise me if anyone is invited by Morrissey if it involves Jobriath.

Morrissey has been a huge fan of Jobriath and so am I. All bad feelings aside, Elton John would probably provide us with a touching tribute to Jobriath.

          And Eric Hartman rules.

Whatever you think of Eric's sexuality 9and it soudns good to me!), I have always found his comments to be wise, accurate and in fact spot on. So in his absence, I will say of Eric - he does indeed rule.
