Morrissey Sings From The 'Heart' On New Album - Billboard, Feb. 23, 2004

A Billboard item on the new album. Contains extensive quotes from the Sanctuary press release, as well as some other interesting tidbits about Morrissey signing Nancy Sinatra to the Attack imprint.

Excerpt:

Morrissey has also begun scouting bands to sign to Attack and has inked a deal with Nancy Sinatra to release a new album on the imprint. That set will feature an as-yet-untitled Morrissey-penned song.

People, including me, have questioned Morrissey's business sense before. Hey, I still do. But, I don't believe anyone can deny his impeccable taste in music which should translate into a penchant for seeing the potential in both new bands and singers of bygone eras. I think in his role as the Zen Master of the ATTACK! label, we will see Morrissey sign some excellent acts. I'm really looking forward to this new direction...and it is long overdo. Like that person who runs Maverick Records, Morrissey too has a good nose for spotting talent.

Nancy Sinatra was spotted with Jarvis Cocker and Steve Mackey in Hoboken, NJ (just across the river from NYC) over several weeks not all that long ago. Rumor has it that they were in town recording together...perhaps for an Attack release? Only time will tell.
