The first in the series of a new BBC Radio Four comedy show featured a parody song “I Never Went Through a Smiths Phase” and a few other Morrissey references.
Pretty good, I thought, but I’m sure many will disagree. It can be listened to via the website (at least until the new show replaces it, 11.00pm GMT Thursday 26th). Follow the link below and select “Mitch Benn’s Crimes Against Music” - he relevant section is three and a half minutes in.

From the BBC News Site:
"Colin Murray and Edith Bowman will take over from Radio 1's Mark Radcliffe and Marc Riley, the BBC has confirmed.
Radcliffe and Riley, aka Lard, are leaving Radio 1 on 26 March for slots on Radio 2 and 6 Music".

Disappointing news, because along with Janice Long, Mark and Lard are probably BBC Radio's biggest Morrissey fans and were definitely the most likely DJ's to play new Morrissey songs on their afternoon slot. It's particularly bad timing and a real shame that new Morrissey material is now very unlikely to be heard on UK daytime Radio 1. ---

'Satan Rejected My Soul' mimed in Vic & Bob Series
British comedians Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer's new, surreal and hilarious series, "Vic and Bob in Caterick", currently showing on BBC3, had a clip in episode 2 where the story's bad guy mimed along to 'Satan....' this week.
The clip lasted for approx 90 seconds and contained the baddie getting out of his car to the rip-roaring start of the song then he performed the song to camera on his way into the program's hotel (the chorus was omitted so the song jumped from the first 2 or 3 verses to the "haul me in, call me in" bit).
The clarity of the song was good so there was no mistaking the source of the voice.
Perhaps symbolic of Moz's re-birth into the media?
Unfortunatley, if you missed it, you won't get another chance for the time being as it's two repeats have already passed....
