Album details on Channel 4 Teletext - May 17th release

Stu Walsh writes:

Channel 4's Teletext service (p.351) today (Feb 12th) reports that Morrissey's new album is due to be released on the 17th of May.

Said report claims the title to be 'For Your Quarry', with an as-yet-unknown single provisionally pencilled in for May 3rd.

This news is credited as coming from www.sanctuaryrecordsgroup.com, although this site appears to say nothing more than "NEW Morrissey album, "For Your Quarry", in stores 5.18.04!" (slightly different release date, and no mention of the single). The US-style date used here (i.e. month/day/year) suggests that the 18th may be the American release date.

Please Moz, change it back, "You Are The Quarry" is much better.

I don't think he ever changed it in the first place - unless it was For Your Quarry all along. I think the Sancuary site has this screwed up and now others are reporting from it. For your Quarry changes the meaning of even "Quarry". Morrissey is far too precious about phrases and quotables to flip-flop around as if the most important thing to him is that the title contain the word quarry.

I've been disappointed too many times by false release dates of various records, and I don't need the added frustration. Of course, that doesn't mean that I'm not pacing the halls of Strangeways Asylum waiting for it's arrival.
