According to this thread on the general board, the song is actually by a Swedish band called Boys. A few years ago there was another mislabelled song called "Matchmaker" attributed to Morrissey going around that turned out to be a song by the Trashcan Sinatras.

    I've been following the discussions on the "fake" song. It's really funny. I have no clue who cracked this joke, but anyhow it's fun to see how many opinions we got on our song. We never intended this to be a Morrissey-pastiche, it's in fact the second song our band made one and a half year ago. I'm very proud of the song, but we're much better nowadays. We made our first gig a week ago and it was sort of shambolic and nice.
