I still find it hard to believe that Morrissey tried to pull that crap this year. His loyal fans were very upset with him.

The documentary was FABULOUS!

On the plus side, we have a new year, and a new album to look foward to.

All things considered, not a bad year for Morrissey product. A great compilation cd, the Importance docu, some fun reads from both books and magazine articles..can't forget to mention all the entertainment this site brings us.
Anticipating 04.. the new CD, the tour, all the media attention, should be smashing.

The Importance of Being Morrissey special did not come on any of the channels where I live. I would have loved to see it, however my only means of being able to own a copy, would be purchase one of the charming $50.00 bootlegs on ebay. Why can't it simply be released, making everybody rich and putting Morrissey's real enemies (the bootleggers) out of business?

The Under the Influence album was good, I guess for a handful of songs I've heard before and already have on cd or mp3.

The books are lovely to throw on a coffee table, carry around in an oversized handbag for comfort on a rainy day at work. I'm still trying to get my hands on Peepholism. Loved the String Quartet's album.

When I saw the Word cover, I was speechless. He is aging gracefully and I love him more than ever, but I really want to strangle his hair stylist for that shoot.

As for the little cat fight here at the forum, I don't think he meant it, he was just being a Diva.

I was looking at those stills from the documentary (I didn't see it) and stuff and I noticed that while the man's face has aged and wrinkled his eyes and expression are still the same as 20 years ago. It's nice.

Another great year for morrissey-solo, thanks to your brave decisions we still have a top notch site that respects freedom of speech.

Hopefully we will have some real Moz action to talk about next year!

Before I start...yes I know that it is "annus", I was being flip.

I genuinely believe that this year would be a vintage one for Morrissey...the stage was set for a grand return.

The NME were throwing honours and accolades at the man all year long...at the start of the year he featured in the news pages almost every week. They gave a glowing review to a US performance. Most influential band.

Every "hip" band in the world namechecked Moz/The Smiths...Hot Hot Heat, The Strokes, The Von Bondies, Interpol, The Libertines, Ordinary Boys and many many more.

A documentary on Channel 4 that received glowing press.

A sold out tour of the UK.

A wonderful session on Janice Long.

All that was needed was a record!

Then...a new deal with Sanctuary.

Hope springs!

But it just never happened...so much faffing around with producers, studios and goodness knows what else.

So, this year is gone...next year it will be someone elses turn to be feted by the press. I fear that Moz may have left it all too, too late.

I hope I am wrong.
