As if participating in karaoke isn't criminal enough, one has the option to belt out various hoary old goth chestnuts as well?! Imagine your fat girlfriend bellowing "Israel" to the drunken hordes, or your acne-riddled mate croak-creakin' along to "Love Cats", or all lads together grunting in full stentorian glory to "I Just Can't Fookin'Get Enough"! Count me in!!!

What I don't understand is why oh why oh why we don't get this sort of thing in the UK. I'd LOVE to murder some Moz songs...coz they are just so wonderful :-)

"The More You Ignore Me" is a fairly common kareoke song. There are a few places around here (OKC) that have that song. I looked in a kareoke catalog and I know that "How Soon Is Now?" and "Panic" exist in kareoke form and I think there was one other. If you have money to burn, you can always order those songs (kareoke CD's ain't cheap though) and then bring them to kareoke show and have the host play them for you. I always felt like a prat doing that though. But like I said, kareoke CD's are expensive so usually a host does not want to order obscure tunes just to satisfy one person.

I did Panic and This Charming Man at the Pourhouse's karaoke night (not to mention three of four Elvic Costello songs and one Squeeze.) It was a great time and the song selection is refreshingly, well, good.
