Geoff Travis on Morrissey deal rumor

I might have missed this elsewhere on the board but can't find it, but having just listened to the recording of Geoff Travis talking to Liz Kershaw on BBC R6 for the Smiths week, he says after about 7:30 minutes into the interview that he heard a "little rumour" that Morrissey signed a deal "two nights ago," which puts it in early May.

Apologies if I've missed something that everyone here already knows about, but thought I'd point it out just in case.

    Sanctuary Deal (Score:0)
    Well, we heard it alright.
    It coincided with the Word interview, where Morrissey said he's "three i's away" from signing the deal with Sanctuary Music Group.

    No word on Sanctuary's website yet.

      I spoke to Liz at The Salford lads club and she said, it came from an e-mail from ´some´woman. It doesn´t sound like a strong lead to me. She said she would clear that up.

        I recently spoke with an artist who works Sancutary. He told me Morrissey is in fact signed to the label, and will be be handling his past archive as well. Sorry I can't go into details, but that's how it goes. I don't know any information regarding release dates.

          There has been som damn many rumours that no-one reacts when a new one pops up - as with this one.
