Just a fun little tidbit. I went to see Hawksley Workman play in Toronto the other night. Some may remember Hawksley opening for Morrissey in Hamilton during "¡Oye Esteban!"

I was fortunate enough to meet Hawksley backstage and I asked him about a rumour I heard some time ago about he and Morrissey playing ping-pong backstage at that show.

Hawksely (who is terrific, by the way) told me that it was, indeed, true. Then I asked him who won.

"Oh, I won," he told me, "It's all in the wrist."

I guess Morrissey can't be the best at EVERYTHING.

Mr Workman is by far and away one of the greatest performers I have ever had the pleasure to see. I discovered him almost by accident last summer and since then have seen him perform twice. He truly is a fantastic singer, poet and performer.

For those wanting to discover more, check out his first album "For Him and The Girls". There is a second one out now called "Last Night We Were (The Delicious Wolves)". And for the truly fanatical theres a special christmas EP also available called "Almost a Full Moon".

His albums are well worth checking out but they pale into insignificance next to his truly astounding live performances.

I heard that Morrissey had a lot of trouble with Hawksley’s serve. He wasn’t positioning himself correctly at the centre of the table, in fact standing too wide to receive.
