I Like Stew writes:

Just heard on the Janice Long Show (BBC Radio 2) that the Channel 4 Morrissey documentary will be shown shortly after Christmas. Contributors to the show include herself (Janice Long), Alan Bennett, Roy Keane and Nancy Sinatra (?).

Yeah Nancy and the family are big Morrissey fans by all accounts, in fact I do believe he onced interviewed her for a music mag in the States, her and Joni Mitchell.....some time ago now. This Channel 4 documentary sounds like it could be rather great, I just hope it doesn't turn out like most of programmes made about The Smiths, promise so much and deliver very little. The difference here maybe is that it looks like we finally have some input from the big guy himself, this will make it worth watching for that fact alone. I just hope it captures the magic of the man, he may not have the biggest fan base in the world but he has the most passionate...that is for sure, you can never really describe the feeling to anybody other than a fellow fan....I just hope the people that made this were fans too!
Best Wishes to you all @ camp Morrissey, no pun intended!!

sounds promising. A few years ago Morrissey went to meet Nancy Sinatra and asked for her nlessing to do "Happy". It's a pity it never saw the light of the day. It suits him perfectly. I've always dreamed of them dueting.

                    Will Moz escape more lightly?

On an unrelated matter, yesterday's (London) TIMES reported that Morrissey would appear on last nights Jools Holland "Best of the 1st 10 years show". This seemed plausible as Moz & the band once performed Dagenham Dave & Boy Racer on Jools Holland. Sadly in the event, Morrissey did not appear but Mariza did!! You see you can never believe what you read in the papers!

OH! Get this. Today, at 4pm, I walked into the Horse And Jockey pub on Chorlton Green, Manchester, and bumped into Andy Rourke! How fooking good is that! Anyway, for those of you keen on Andy, it's his local.

In this case its 'Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want'. Its a carbon copy of the original but still worht seeing nonetheless.

Also on the show are The Vines - the cover Outkasts 'Ms Jackson'.
