The Queen Is Dead voted #13 in Q's 100 greatest albums

Q magazine have just published their results of the 100 Greatest Albums Ever poll. The Queen Is Dead was 13th in this relatively hideous list (it included The Strokes' and The Vines' only albums, which, according to the editor, is a good thing). It was called their finest hour and the beginning of the end, and of course the writer managed to get a pop in at Some Girls... before the end. It was also accompanied by the pic of Moz lying on his grave. The top 10, just to save you from buying this god-awful magazine, was:
1. Nirvana - Nevermind
2. Radiohead - OK Computer
3. The Beatles - Revolver
4. Radiohead - The Bends
5. Eminem - The Marshall Mathers LP
6. The Sex Pistols - Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's The...
7. The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses
8. Oasis - Definitely Maybe
9. The Strokes - Is This It
10. U2 - Achtung Baby

Ok, these polls are always pretty whack, but these are a few of my observations:

-"The Queen Is Dead" should have been much higher.

-Radiohead haters can argue all they want, but they deserve to be up there. They are one of the few artists whom have done anything innovative and original over the last decade. Thay can change their sound with every album and still pull it off beautifully. "LP6" is going to sound much more like "The Bends" by the way.....

-The Strokes? Don't get me wrong, I like their music, but come on......? #9?????

-Any album that has not been around for at least 5 years should not really be considered anyway, because that is no test of time. If this poll was taken one year ago, people would have probably put "Gorillaz" in there.

-"The Holy Bible" at #19??? After Madonna's "Ray Of Light?" Something is just wrong with that.

-"The Queen Is Dead" should have been much higher.

-The top 10 albums according to me(at least right now):

      1. "The Queen Is Dead"-The Smiths
      2. "OK Computer"-Radiohead
      3. "Velvet Underground & Nico"-Velvet Underground
      4. "Hunky Dory"-Bowie
      5. "Meat Is Murder"-The Smiths
      6. "Closer"-Joy Division
      7. "Electric Warrior"-T-Rex
      8. "Srgt. Pepper's"-The Beatles
      9. "Rocket To Russia"-The Ramones
      10. "The Holy Bible"-Manic Street Preachers

the queen is dead is one of the best albums ever made i analize the "bands"
      In my opinion
Nirvana:good band, you can hear the music of nirvana and it΄s ok for a short time but later what happens? nothing you still hearing the distortionated guitars all the time, and thats all. if all have the oportunity of be nirvana, all take the guitar and distortionate the sound and play anything and all people belive that is a great song but i dont think so

Radiohead: if creep doesn΄t exist i΄ve never know radiohead.i think "radiohead sometimes sounds like the smiths" i think creep is a mix of well i wonder ,vicar in a tutu with miserable lie

Beatles: if you see the lyrics of some songs you will sick

      Radiohead:again! never mind

eminem: marshall is a poor singer i feel sick when i hear the instrumentals

      sex pistols: ja!

      The stone roses: jajaja!

Oasis: a definitive fan of the smiths

u2: ill never buy that album i hear the album and is stupidly commercial

The smiths is the best band belive me
and if you dont belive me now
some day you will belive me

a just other comment strangeways here we come is other great album

I own a lot of different types of music, but even I cringed when I saw this list. Some of the albums that were selected haven't even been out for more than 2 years. I enjoy music that is well-rounded: good lyrics, actual musical talent, and a well constructed album. I'm afraid that some mentioned don't even have one of the three going for them.

      Until the next list......

the strokes are a horrible band. they only have one song which they keep releasing over and over as a different single. seriously, all of their songs sound exactly the same. believe me, in ten years, no one will know who the strokes are. those guys will be playing state fairs, after having self-destructed and sunk all their money into buying beer and cocaine - and that's being optimistic.

there is no way in hell eminem should be in the top ten either. when will people realise that he is annoying? his voice is obnoxious as are his lyrics. he does not sing about life as it really is. he doesn't sing at all, really, but that's beside the point. his lyrics do not reflect real life. they just encourage people to buy into a pathetic myth about what being a youth in america today is all about.

and the beatles are so overrated.

this list is wrong on so many levels.
