Bill Wyman (journalist) namechecks Morrissey

Bizarre story both for its content and the Moz reference.

On BBC Radio 4 this morning there was a interview with Bill Wyman (the American rock journalist) who's been contacted by a lawyer on behalf of Bill Wyman (the bass player for The Stones). Journo Bill Wyman has been ordered to "cease and desist" from using his real name and threatened with legal action!

In the interview Journo Bill Wyman retorted that "it's not as if Bill Wyman is really famous and well-known or anything; I could understand it if I was called Bruce Springsteen or Morrissey".

The irony is that Journo Bill Wyman was born with that name 2 years before the other one started calling himself "Bill Wyman" as a member of the Stones.

    Interesting, makes me free-associate (Score:1)
Well I found this interesting. Shows a (typical) lack of grace by Bill Wyman. (The one who likes the young stuff...) It's all relative - you don't see Bob Dylan suing John Wesley Harding for trademark infringement, or a truly marvelous scenario where British secretary Norman Cook sues Fat Boy Slim (aka Norman Cook.) What's in a name? Not much - I don't believe Dave Allen (Gang of 4 bassman) can be the same guy who produced The Cure's early records. It would be amusing to confuse one George Bush as the guy who led us to war and recession. Oh! It's both of them. Hmm...

(I know, I'm rusty - nothing much going on in the Morrissey planet right now.)

    Kinda like Victoria Beckham.. (Score:0)
Kinda reminds me of what Victoria Beckham(Posh Spice) is trying to do to the Football Club Peterborough United, who are known as "the posh." She is trying to stop them from using this name, even threatening legal action. Even though they've been known as "the Posh" since 1924 or something, well before she was born, and before her parents were born, and possible before her grandparents were born! Pretty funny.
