"Irish Blood, English Heart" previously Johnny Panic's "Not Bitter But Bored"?

Hodge writes:

The music to "Irish Blood, English Heart" was to be the new single by Johnny Panic (Alain's previous band) with obviously different lyrics and vocal melody. Johnny Panic's song was called "Not Bitter But Bored" and I actually think it is better than the Moz version.

Dear NME, here's ur response to those allegations. (Score:0)
Still a great song... made that much more special by Morrissey's incredible lyrics.

If you're English (or still stupidly wondered if Morrissey was a racist... as if) the song is of extreme importance... in light of recent events in Oldham, Burnley and Bradford.

    I AM DREAMING OF A TIME, when the English are SICK TO DEATH OF LABOUR, AND TORIES AND SPIT UPON THE NAME O L I V E R C R O M W E L L !!!

The union jack - Racist or Racial?

    Now we know.

    VIVA MOZ and f**k racism.

How much did Alain sell the song for? (Score:1)
That is what I wonder. How pathetic to sell the tune of your bands upcoming single to someone else.

So what about Johnny Panic now? Are they finished? I still have the 'when I drink I love you more' single & fond memories of a gig @ The Monarch.
Let's hope that the next single won't be sold to Elton John :)

    Love,

    Children,

Johnny Panic are long dead and gone!

"English blood..." bears only a passing similarity to "Not bitter but bored" and to claim that Alain has sold it or is rehashing old material is completely laughable..."English blood..." has a different vocal part, new lyrics and only the intro bears any resemblance to the JP song.

JP frontman Ben Gunstone, has himself long since moved on from the JP back catalogue...deeming it "Britpop" and none of us want that do we?

Ben has two solo albums available through Eminent records...www.bengunstone.com "Merhcant Venturer" and "Songs From the Corner of the Room" both of which stand head and shoulders above anything JP completed...buy them and be glad.
