Appearing on stage for a concert in Blackburn on Saturday, night Morrissey paid stirring tribute to all those who had voted for him then added: "the Greatest Mancunian that NEVER lived". But he said he could not believe he had beaten oddball comic, Jimmy Clitheroe, to the coveted No. 1 spot.
