Bill Ricchini cover of "Everyday Is Like Sunday" (mp3 download available)

Bill Ricchini writes:

I am a singer songwriter in the US and I recently recorded "Everyday Is Like Sunday" for a little indie label called Trackstar. I also have a full length record coming out Oct. 1 on Rykodisc called Ordinary Time and has it been compared to The Smiths as well as many other Brit pop acts.

This is actually a limited edition 7 inch single that sold out so I am making it available on my website for free. I did it in the style of the Velvet Underground's "Pale Blue Eyes" and The Beach Boys "God Only Knows."

The track is listed on his website as, and the mp3 is named, "Everyday Is Like A Sunday." *A* Sunday? Is that a particular Sunday? Easter Sunday? Harriet Wheeler?

This is terrible. The droning organ in the background is still ringing in my ears. If you must pay tribute to your musical mentor do so intelligently: Sell every instrument you have in your possession immediately at your local swap meet. Your father was right, you were better off choosing the career of a butcher.
    in a word, yuck.

I'm actually very surprised to see that so far people don't seem to like this cover. I was expecting everyone to be in agreement and shit.
I'm actually glad that its not so.
I'm actually going to say something nice for a change. I didn't like his cover of the song. I think it stinks. But, I do did kinda like the first 2 he had. It's just....so far, whenever i've heard of any band or person being compared to the smiths or morrissey, they always sound more like sean lennons overdubbed voice. You know that splitting sound. Thers nothing wrong with it, and like i said, i "kinda" like the other 2 songs. Its just, so far, when i've heard morrissey/smiths comparison, the singers sound really...fluffy. Like that other group that was named on this site the other day...I forget there name cuz they sucked, but they had the same sound. That folk-ee...indie.....sissy fluffy sound.
Oh and, I automatically hate everybody who gets compared or compares themselfs to Madonna or Morrissey.
I expect to be dazzled if your going to make a comparison like that. Comparing this guy, or...coldplay to morrissey, is like comparing britney, christina, jennifer lopez...mariah carey to Madonna. You just don't do it.

    Congratulations for trying (Score:1)
I'd just like to congratulate Bill Richini for having the guts to promote himself on this site. The fact that he has covered a Morrissey song makes his advert relevant to this site. I am in an indie band myself and know how difficult it is to get any kind of exposure.

Well done for trying old chap.
