Bona Drag / Your Arsenal EMI re-package - out Oct. 14

Famous when dead writes:

Just got off the phone with my local record dealer who informs me of yet another EMI rip-off.

'Bona Drag / Your Arsenal' double cd.
EMI 5431512

Out on the 14th of this month.

What on earth are EMI up to? I really hope their actions of late do not further jaundice Moz - just as he looks to be getting an album out (well almost!).

this seems like a horrible idea. they aren't even consecutive albums! i mean, granted few nonhardcore fans would buy it if it were bona drag and kill uncle, but for heavens sake! couldnt they at least put out another cool bside/rare track/singles compilations? argh!! since i already have both these albums (as any good fan should), i probably wouldnt buy this unless it had some kickass extras - or at least not until i've run out of other things to waste money on (i.e. bootlegs).

EMI - Close shop and move to the country. You coallition of vampires is not needed anymore. Hopefully Morrissey's next album will sell 10 million in the states and someone at EMI will get caned in town square.

Some people are upset at the news of these re-issues. Hmmm, let's take a look at the events surrounding this decision by EMI (and I don't have any involvement with that company, btw):
*Moz is gaining lots of new fans around the world on this tour.
*Most of his CDs are out-of-print.
*Fans who would like to buy Moz's official releases don't have many options.
*Moz still receives royalties for his recordings.

So....why the heck is ANYONE mad about new fans getting the chance to buy Moz's CDs, and for Moz himself to make a few more quid?

Some so-called fans will gripe about anything that involves commerce. Do those fans have jobs to buy stuff, such as show tickets and CDs, or do they still get allowances from their folks? Money is not a 4-letter word, you know. Instead of casting EMI into the fires of hell for actually WANTING MOZ CDs in the marketplace, why can't those "fans" be glad for The Man and his REAL fans.

Those same so-called "fans" will be the first to download MP3s of Moz's upcoming releases, but the last to cough up some cash to buy a CD and put some money into Moz's hands. How sad....

i have Your Arsenal, but still haven't replaced Bona Drag from when it got stolen. Do you think they'd mind if i break the CD apart and take what I need or will i be stuck with stuff I already have??

        But nice one EMI!
Im quite new to the Smiths and Morrissey and these two albums are just about the only two i dont already own.
Ill think ill treat myself to an early xmas present, THANKS.
Im sure there are lots of new fans who might find this package beneficial. I think these two albums are two of morrissey's best.
PS, Im not showing off now but Im going to see Moz in Glasgow!! (Nice!)
