Boz Boorer & Johnny Marr play Kirsty MacColl tribute gig, Royal Festival Hall (London, Sept. 23)

Johnny played guitar and sung 'Tread Lightly' and 'You & Me Baby', inbetween songs was joined on stage by David Gray and played on 'Walking Down Madison'. Boz played clarinet accompanying Mary Coughlan on 'Bad'. Then the Bozman led the rocking out on 'Guy Works Down The Chipshop Swears He's Elvis'. Johnny got the loudest cheer of the night and joined up with Boz for the final bow to the crowd. God Bless Kirsty x.

    Such a unique talent. She never got the recognition she deserved. I'm glad she's remembered in events like this one.

        She did a great version of "You just haven't earned it yet,baby".Morrissey wrote a liner note tribute on her greatest hits album.
        A bit bizarre for Boz and Marr to be on the stage together.Any contact,one wonders?

        Mark Nevin also appeared, so it really was like a Morrissey Timeline.

        A good chunk of the gig was broadcast last night on BBC 6Music. The Beeb have kindly archived the show @ http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/6music_aod.shtml?km_tribute

        The rest of the unaired songs will be broadcast on the 1st October from 10pm, again on BBC 6Music.

          I can't believe she's been gone almost two years. It's great that she's still remembered through these tribute gigs. She deserves them.

            Did anyone hear johnny Marr on the bbc 6 music, music news? He was saying that if he were to reform the Smiths he would have 2 or 3 synthesisers instead of guitars! weird huh? He said he doesnt like guitar music anymore!

            And did anyone hear what steve lamaqc was saying, on monday,about mozza live at the rah?

            Fantastic Gig (Score:1)
            This was one of the best gigs I have been to. The line up really delivered on her songs.

            Johnny Marr looked in need of a good haircut but sang better than I expected. Boz was in rocking form for the finale, though I never expected to see him playing for Tracey Ullman!

            The RFH has no security like a usual gig, it is more like a theatre, which meant we could lean on the stage as they performed.
