The music press in the UK still adore him, such as Q, Mojo, Uncut... , but it's the assholes in the general press that always slag of Morrissey.
They don't know their head from their ass and I've seen more intellegence in a serving of scrambled egg than these useless journalists. Well, I guess they can be really pleased with themselves for helping to destroy British music by slating one of the few treasures we have. I guess they'd rather listen Popstars and pop idol than proper songs.

After listening to the Irish Blood, English Heart the song is not anti-English. It is however anti-tabloid, where if you waved a Union Jack at a football match or anywhere you would be classed as a racist.

The Union Jack has been claimed back from the racists, we just now have to get rid of the Royal Family and Tory Blair and his fat cats mates.

How do these incoherent fools become journalists, they see everything in black and white....I know they have to simplify everything for the toothless simpletons that believe all they read in these rags, but still it really pisses off.
I'm not saying I never read tabloids as they are a good source of amusement, but I can see their bullshit for what it is, I refuse to buy them. My lovely Nan always sends me the News Of The World on a Sunday, the edition yesterday (22/9) had Morrissey as 'Loser Of The Week' in the cutting edge music column by 'Rav', I mean c'mon....how sad is that. The reason given was that Morrissey had said that Jarvis Cocker wasn't a patch on him, no doubt a tongue in the cheek comment that wasn't at all newsworthy, they even stole this from the Observer article......so the story was a week late and old news anyway, not to mention from an interview which he has already disowned, there just out to get him as always......he's still pissing the tabloid press off, great to see mind......he's far too smart for them, always has been, great to see Moz back annoying the ones who deserve it, keep up the good work Moz, A+!!!!!!

the song isnt an attack on how the english badly treated the irish all those years ago but a point of view on how if we say we are proud to be english we are mocked and thought to be racist as there are so many other ethnic minorities now in the uk.
ie. the finsbury union jack thing wasnt racist but a celebration of englishness.
when blur did it 2 years later they were warmly accepted.
i could go on , cos im good at that, but just dont buy the mirror, ever.

Remember The Sun newspaper banging on about 'Suffer Little Children' being sick, etc, back in 1984. This brought The Smiths to mass public attention, and in the end did them a huge favour.
