More Craig Kilborn / Sportscenter lyric quote

Craig Kilborn mentioned Morrissey again on the Tuesday night show, according to a post by Matthew on the discussion board:

Re: kilbourn just plugged for moz again 7/9/02
...I just caught that myself. He noted that Morrissey lives in LA, and apparently the producers of the show have called Moz, but have not heard back from him yet. I definitely think that this will happen.

I was just reading over the news on MOZ-solo today when my television shouted: "Burn down the Disco and Hang the Bloody DJ!"

The host of Sportscenter used it as a leadway into the popular sports-news program. He must be stealing from Kilborn which is not a shock when you consider Kilborn used to be a host on Sportscenter himself. Funny stuff...I think the Mozzer is about to make a return, he is in the air...

I'm not sure if it was the best thing to suggest that Morrissey & Bowie appear on the same show. I think they deserve their proper attention in the spotlight without being a part of a "2 for 1" value pack.

also, are Bowie & The Man even on good terms? wasn't there some unpleasantness that ensued after their infamous '95 double-bill?

i hope Craig's suggestion doesn't deter either of them from appearing.

what's next? Tony Cornhole mentioning Bowie? Nice to see ESPN is finally catching up with the rest of the world. I thought the first Moz quote from a sports station would have been from Jack Haley or Steve Lyons.

Steven Patrick Morrissey would be the first, then Bowie can have the second segment, as long as he limits his comments to Morrissey, Morrissey's albums, Morrissey's songs etc.

what Craig said last night... (Score:1)
Wow, my post made in onto the main page! Anyway, I taped the show, but didn't feel like transcribing it last night. Here's the relevant Moz bit for those that missed it:

Craig: Morissey lives in LA, he lives in LA. I'm saying our staff is lazy and we haven't contacted him. Have we called him yet today?
        Producer: Yes.
Craig: We haven't heard anything back from him yet, have we?
        Producer: Not yet.
Craig: But he'll do it, he's a weird guy. But he'll do it, right? Remember he used to say for years he was asexual, he's celibate, he said that during the 80s he was celibate? Come on! (Pause) I was the only one celibate in the 80s. Alright, so that's exciting.
