Morrissey single rumor on Popbitch

Blair was first with the rumor:

I have no idea how reliable this is (probably not at all) but I read this at Popbitch:

charlieherocamden: "I'm reliably informed that Morrissey's 1st single for 5 years will be called "Mario's Dance" and hails not only a return to form but also a return to the sound of his Viva Hate album. How do I know? My cousin is playing drums on it...."

I have no idea how Ricky Ross got contaminated with rabies (probably caught it from Bobby Davro) but I read Whizzer and Chips:

A huge bronze heron: "I'm reliably informed that Neil Morrissey, on a lo-lo ball, will be carving pictures of buttocks in the side of Greg Smith's treehouse and this hails not only the return of Mark Morrison's 'Big Mac' but also a return to the sound of Brian Clough strangling a canary. How do I know? Bob Holness's living, fully conscious, breadbin, is stocked with creme eggs...."

I'd rather wait five more years for a good single than a crap one rightaway.

I'm not really familiar with this site but it doesn't seem very thrustworthy to me, at first glance at least. Couldn't just anyone have posted this? Someone who is quite aware of how easy it is to stir up excitment amongst Morrissey fans who hasn't heard anything new from their hero since 1997. ( Remember Melanie. Does anybody, btw, know who actually wrote and sang this? I thought it was an alright song.)

It would be really great for me as I am a huge fan of the Viva Hate era. Though, it is kind of hard to believe being that Morrissey didn't really enjoy Viva Hate that much. But, whatever...sounds good.

In the spirit of being a piss take, it's funny. But presenting it unironically makes it come across even more moronically!

"Mario's dance" will also feature Diana Ross and Celine Dion on back-up vocals, the legend of Jimi Hendrix on guitar with Boz, and the cousin playing drums is named Tommy Lee. It's sure to be on the Top of the Pops. After all, Barbara Streisand is managing the tour with her own personal finances, insuring that it will be a hit. And the tour! The tour is going to focus on all countries surrounding the Pacific Rim. Only $500 dollars a ticket. I'm so excited that I just might die! This is a reliable source speaking, by the way.
