Morrissey was in West Covina looking at cars this weekend. Apparently he was looking at Aston Martins, was with one young woman and gave out autographs before he left (no car was purchased).

Morrissey ate breakfast today and then went to Home Depot to buy a light bulb. He paid with a 10 dollar bill. Told the cashier "thank you", got in his car and drove off.

My guess is that with all the money he's gonna make from the new tour, this is his chance to get himself a new car.

That, or so many people know/recognize his current car, that he's deciding to trade it in. Probably tired of all the stalkers.

My brother has two of those. He used to race with one. Then he went out and bought a 1968 vintage Aston Martin. It's cute. We all have Aston Martin t-shirts in the family.

Damn things are small, though. The car, I mean.

Leave the man alone, his private life is private...

It's not bad enough that people harass him at his house, take pictures of his car and post them on websites, and think it's completely acceptable and just to do so . Because eveyone thinks it's his duty to oblidge because we've bought an album or have gone to a show, so every time he leaves his house, it's news and he's public property. Leave the man alone, for all he's given us, he deserves his privacy. He doesn't owe the fans anything, the music should be enough.

I want to know how many of us would find it acceptable to have people waiting outside of our house, following us as we shop, drive or when we are just trying to live our lives. Maybe if all these people who invade his privacy and his life would just try to live in his shoes for a day, just try to imagine what it's like to not be able to leave the house without people watching proding and wanting, you'd have some respect.

I for one would want to keep my privacy and my life intact, just because he's a brillant lyricist and singer, does not mean he owes his life to us. We buy his albums and go see him live because we identify with the music and the lyrics. We have that and that should be enough. He didn't twist our arms to do so, we did by our own free will, so therefore he owes us nothing.
