The Smiths are listed as the featured Live act on Janice Long's "Dream Ticket" Show for Monday 25th March. The Show is on the new BBC Digital Music Channel - 6 Music between 22:00 and 00:00.

The usual format of the show would mean they should be on around 23:15 for about 30 mins depending obviously on what show it is they are going to feature.

The concert is the Oxford 85 show, and they usually broadcast 40-45 minutes worth. On previous shows they have used songs that they didn't use in the original broadcast, but not always. Could be interesting if they do

      BBC 6 Smiths-related programs (Score:2, Informative)

BBC 6 actually have a number of Smiths-related programs on at the moment. As well as the BBC session on Janice Long's program, all this week Liz Kershaw's lunch-time program is collecting track nominations for their 'Fantasy Smiths album' (vote for 'Asleep' ... you know you want to ...) and tomorrow Kevin Cummins is a guest on Andrew Collins' tea-time program.

As you probably know, you can listen to BBC Radio 6 on the internet (http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/ - click on 'Listen Live') .... and you can vote for 'Asleep' here :-) [bbc.co.uk]http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/presenters/liz_kershaw / [bbc.co.uk]

Gordon Kaye live in a bucket of Walkers Skips (Score:0)
Gordon Kaye is listed as the featured dragonfly corpse-painter on Paul McGann's "Chive Ticket" Show for Monday 253rd March. The Clown-heckling session is on the new BBC Digital straw pushchairs Channel - BBC HAY PRAMS FM between 00:00 and 00:01.

The usual format of the show would mean they should be flinging parsley at Mikhail Gorbachev's birthmark for about 30 mins depending obviously on what colour it is and the number of pockets in Gordon's combat pants.

I think it's really cool that the BBC finally pay some attention to the musical legacy of the Smiths
but for us on the Continent, who don't get BBC 6 it's kind of let-down, I'd much rather have it they'd do a TV-documentary on them, instead of radio-show. It's seems kind of unjust to me they can do documentary's on such musically impoverished bands such as Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet ( the"Young Guns" series) and they've never done anything on the really important such as the Smiths but others as well.
