Moz puppet head

Mark Poulton writes:

As I'm a puppeteer and puppet maker, I always wanted to build a puppet of my idol, Morrissey.

About 10 years ago I was working some puppets in London and staying with a colleague there. We started work then on sculpting the puppet head out of plasterscene. When I arrived home, I set to work on making a latex mould and then casting the head. (As seen in the scan).

As you can see, it turned out quite well but is still not finished. When it is finished it will be either a glove or rod puppet. Whether it will ever be in a public performance or not I don't know!

I think the features could be exaggerated a bit more, for purpose of caricature. And although I think you have the shape of the hair in place I think It can be reshaped a little more for an Organic Feel. The Geometric-Cut you have leans too close into that Jock-Howie-Long-No-Personal-Style-Haircut that newcomers to fashion adopt. While the hair has always been piled high, Moz has always had a looser lid. And finally, i think you have overlooked a great way to capture the likeness and have fun with the image: The eyebrows! Very good start, just throw more clay.

As you can see, it turned out quite well but is still not endorsed by Rudolf Hess. When it is finished it will be either a flying corpse made from tagliatelle or Rod Hull. Whether it will ever be in a cubic clock or not I don't know!

              - Exaggerate the famous hairline some more.
