Morrissey to act/appear in "Step Into My World" (2003) - a 'romantic comedy'?!

I happened upon this bit of information with a slightly bizarre tinge (if the word 'slightly' at all suffices) whilst visiting one of my favourite sites IMDb.com (Internet Movie Database).

Well, this claims that Morrissey is to appear? act? and also compose the music in an upcoming film (a Romantic Comedy at that) titled "Step Into My World" (2003), written by Paul McGuigan and Gil Everett. Apparently, it is currently in production in England.

Anyway, here is a link IMDb.com gives as to different resources, magazine articles and such. Hopefully, at least the December issue of "Premiere" is still on the shelves as that's one that is listed.

I have no idea what this film is about or if this is even really happening or actually going to happen. I just thought that perhaps others may shed some light on this otherwise absurd revelation of Morrissey acting in a 'Romantic Comedy'!

Morrissey is indeed listed in the cast overview (playing himself) and the movie is listed in his 'filmography' if you click on the link to his name. "Suedehead" and "Interlude" are listed as songs in the film.

                    I don't know.

But, then again, being yourself in a movie isn't quite acting.

Maybe he's been studying acting or something all this time while being in LA - new career.

I'm happy for him if it's what he wants to do. I think he did say something about acting once, or producing. Something to do with FILM, anyway. I wonder if it's just an appearance = walk on, walk off, type thing.

To me, it's almost like a quote Morrissey once said "People see me in a swimming pool, and they're wondering 'what's Morrissey doing in a swimming pool?'" (or something like that), Point being - WHY IS IT SO HARD TO BELIEVE THAT I ACTUALLY DO HAVE A LIFE AND INDEED ENJOY DOING CERTAIN THINGS. I usually have a very open mind as far as the things Morrissey gets himself into, but I guess this one kinda blows my mind!

But, I still think it's fantastic and I'll be the first person in my town in line to see it!
