As a Montreal-based songwriter/guitarist, I have to agree with most of what is said about the Canadian music scene.....but I was watching Claude Rajotte (my apologies if that's the wrong spelling), a VJ with MuchMusic who has the best taste in music, and he introduced The Dears video. I was in awe.....I couldn't believe this came from Montreal. what was this? It's not exactly The Smiths or Ride or Radiohead or Pink Floyd for that matter. It's music that exists on a different level. It seems to be (at least), a band that won't compromise, that has a vision (quite rare today). Now..if only I could find some musicians like that

I saw the photo of that man Murray and was momentarily horror-stricken...I thought dear old Moz had gone the way of 70s Elvis...then I realized it was not him. Crikey.
