A few interesting items in this one. Alex McCann writes:
***EXCLUSIVE JOHNNY MARR INTERVIEW***
Speaking exclusively to Designer Magazine we caught up with Manchester legend Johnny Marr to catch up on the all the latest Healers news. Over the past year he's been recording the Healers debut album, toured with Neil Finn and produced up and coming Manchester quartet Haven. Rather than run simply another retrospective piece on the Smiths we took time out to find about the fears and insecurities he had as a frontman, how it was Chrissie Hynde and the rest of the band who persuaded him he was up for the job and how he's taking it day by day. Read the full interview to find a man living in the present day with his sights set firmly on the future.

This week also featuring interviews from ED CASE, SYSTEM OF A DOWN, MANCHILD and LYRIC ***
Excerpt:"...The truth is I didn't speak to the press for ages because I didn't want to drag out any negativity. Then it got to the point 10 years after where there was the 5 years of the band and almost an entire industry built on back biting and negativity. I'd kind of had enough of it... The rest of the band without exception have dragged that thing out for publicity. I don't mind saying that because its a matter of record that I didn't talk for years about it, but they would just go out and do all this negative stuff just to keep themselves in the papers. That's their hard luck!!!
--- No specific Morrissey / Smiths mentions in this one, but here it is. Mr_Biffo_2001 writes:
I’ve come across this interview with Johnny Marr from the Manchester Metro News from Friday 31 August, on page 10 (scan, from James Greenall). The Metro is a free paper, which everyone around Manchester gets delivered to them, like it, or not.
Here it is in full:
"Ex Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr is back with a new band. Healers first single, The Last Ride, is out on Sep 24 on Pacific Records.
