A friend of mine read an article about Morrissey attending Rufus Wainwright concerts. Morrissey told one of the managers that he was stealing some of Rufus' ideas and that he hoped Rufus didn't mind. How true is that?

  • Why does such a talented songwriter like Morrissey need to steal someone else’s ideas? A lot of the rumours (not unlike this one) have no evidence behind them at all so can people please stop making these rumours up.

  • that a very, very typical Morrissey comment to be made, don't you think? I wouldn't hesitate a second to believe he actually said that.

  • I have heard people compare Moz with Rufus for a few reasons.
    1) They both have great voices
    2) They both write ambiguous lyrics
    3) They both have great song-writing styles
(and as a sidenote Rufus is gay, when our ol' boy is rumored to be gay too).
I think Rufus has a great voice and his most recent cd is great. (he'll be at street scene down in san diego this sunday, check him out if you get the chance!)
