Earl Graphite writes: Tonight on VH1, Morrissey got a brief mention on VH1's "The Struggling Singer-Songwriter". Aimee Mann was being interviewed at the time, they were discussing what happened when Geffen was swallowed up by Interscope and how many artists lost their contracts.
A real eye opener on the current state of the music industry and a must see for everyone. Aimee Mann's interview was particularly moving, that is, seeing how she handled her own loss of a record deal by starting her own label "Super Ego Records". --- tibby also writes: I was watching a show on VH-1 called "Struggling Singer Songwriters" and Aimee Mann was on there discussing her troubles with her former record label. And how they regarded her album when the label merged. The narrarator also mentioned other artists who were dropped by this label among them was Morrissey. They also showed a tiny clip of the "The More You Ignore Me The Closer I Get Video" if you blink you`ll miss it.The show was about how in the age of bubble gum pop the singer songwriter struggles to get heard in the sea of boy bands and brainless fluff. --- Looks like the next airing is on Fri. (July 6). Aimee Mann mentions her label in this article also: Musicians find Net success without record labels - CNN.com, May 10, 2001
