Stuart Goodwin writes:

Joan Sims, famous for her roles in the Carry On movies and renowned in Morrissey-land as the star of the "Ouija Board, Ouija Board" promo, has died aged 71.

The star, who was in more than 20 Carry On films, died after a lengthy illness.

"She had been ill for some months," said a spokeswoman for her agent.

Her most recent movie was the BBC TV film Last Of The Blonde Bombshells in which she starred with Dame Judi Dench.

It is very sad to hear about the death of one of Britains greatest comedy actors. Still, she made my childhood more bearable as I grew up watching all those classic films. She was also pretty good in the Ouija Board video alongside the wonderous Kathy Burke and the quiffed one himself.

Hope to vada you all sometime

This is sad. She was a great comic actress, and if any of you American Morrissey fans haven't seen a "Carry On" film then you should check 'em out.Every single person in the UK watched all of them when they were kids. And in a small but fundamental way they helped make us what we are.
