R.E.M. asked "Who would win in a boxing match...?" in Q

There's a new special edition to Q magazine that is completely devoted to R.E.M. Early in the magazine the band members are asked numerous questions by fans around the world. One questions goes as follows: Who Would Win In A Boxing Match, Morrissey or Billy Bragg?

Mills' Answer: Billy Bragg. Morrissey would withdraw in the first round.

Stipe's Answer: But maybe Morrissey's a scrapper.

Buck's Answer: And Billy Bragg's a pacifist. He might throw the match on principle. I could see that.

For any fans of R.E.M. the issue is a must! I just finished reading it, and having Morrissey named dropped made it even more worth my while. Cheers.

    Bragg vs. Morrissey (Score:0)
    Moz, although a peace-loving and civil man, loves boxing and athletics--maybe he would trounce Bragg...I recall reading about an occasion where he lifted a 300-lb man in a bearhug and spun him about with ease. And I also heard he levitates....ok, that is excessive.

              well, you all have seen the morrissey concert videos and such. he catches everything people throw! so i think hes pretty athletic. and im sure hes strong too...people jump on him repeatedly and he doesnt seem to fall.

                speaking for the underestimated tall skinny guys of the world, I bet Moz is quite strong and would surprise everyone. Plus he's not small in any sense any more. He's not what you'd call skinny any longer (nor has he really been since early solo days if that) so I think he'd probably mop the floor with good old billy. hehe

                  It would probably depend on a home town advantage. Morrissey is a bit of a dabbler in human carnage, where as Billy Bragg is not so. Perhaps we should let their friend "Jeane" be the referee, and decide whom really is the best kicker of Human Ass...So to speak... Go for the throats fellas !
