JACKASS SOUNDTRACK SHELVED

The soundtrack for the controversial MTV show "Jackass" has been postponed indefinitely. The album, featuring new material from BECK, D-12 and MARILYN MANSON -- as well as previously released songs by the REPLACEMENTS, the SMITHS and the RAMONES -- was originally scheduled for a June 26th release on Interscope Records. The BLOODHOUND GANG also recorded a new song, titled "Jackass," for the soundtrack, which was rejected in favor of an older BHG tune, "Boom." The former has been picked up for the soundtrack to "American Pie II." MTV and Interscope did not give a reason for the postponement.

Thank god, The Smiths do not need to be linked to anything regrarding MTV or the philistines they promote (i.e. Blink 182, Marilyn Manson, etc.)Shelve your plans...shelve your plans!
