Linder Sterling gave an interview to a London correspondent of the radio and TV station B92, Relya Mirkovic, just before her performance at The ICA. First she spoke about her project - that she has found the inspiration in the person of Ann Lee (the leader of Shaker movement in Manchester), that she has actually found an essential parallel with Ann Lee and the characters from Sergio Leone's spaghetti westerns, especially Clint Eastwood - The man with no name.

When asked about Morrissey - she said that their relationship is a very close one, and that they share the same ideas about their work - as if they have been "glued together" over the past 25 years, as a matter of fact that it could have easily been Morrissey doing this performance instead of her. And then she smiled mysteriously...

Aren't you even dearer than Stipey?
Have you seen him in his nightie?
Did it cost you a pony?
Has he shown you his... tummy

Why not tell us , honestly ?

Nice to see that Linder and Morrissey are still tight. So many articles compile lists of people whom Moz has fired or left (granted, he can't be easy to work with), but Linder's at the top of a list of key figures never mentioned in these articles. Others include Michael Bracewell (Linder's husband & Moz insider for at least 10 years), Boz and Alain (worked with Moz for 10 years), Mr. Stipe (friendly -- albeit inconsistently -- for 11+ years) Debbie (good pal since circa "Your Arsenal"), John Wynn (tour manager from '91 through 2000), Tim Broad (friend and vid. director from '87 until his death in '93), Mick Ronson (who, according to all accounts, had fantastic working relations w/ Moz).

I believe that if someone were to compile the accounts of those listed above, one would have a version of the Morrissey story very different from those offered by John Rogan, the NME staff, and all the other ususal suspects.
