On April 17th I went to an open mike (all professional comics) over at Cobb's Comedy Club in San Francisco. These comics were trying out new material. The last act, Australian Comedian named Jim Short included Morrissey in his routine. He was doing a bit about how silly it is that big pop stars are being used in commercials to promote products, e.g. Britney Spears for Pepsi and Bono for a car (I forget which one). Well anyway, he said wouldn't it be great if Morrissey did an ad for Nine Lives presumably due to Morris the cat being the current cat. He did a pretty good Morrissey impression, A Boy With a Thorn at Side like, of him promoting Nine Lives. It was pretty funny. I doubt, however, that any other people in the room knew who Morrissey was. Anyway just a little tidbit. Very trivial, I know.

there was some maritimes comedy show on the cbc, cant remember what it was called though... early 90s.
anyway, they did tons of parodies, of commercials, music videos, etc, all the standard fare. they did a fine morrissey parody, which seemed terribly obscure, but here goes:
'noseworthy' had a massive (sight gag MASSIVE) quiff and a transparent baby-blue shirt and a huge (sight gag HUGE) crucifix across his chest and he kind of moped/pranced about the stage singing. i cant remember what he sang, or whether it was a parody of a real morrissey song. i dont remember that much about it at all, in fact, except for the sight gags and falling off my couch from laughter. that 'face hurts' laughter...
    later skaters.

    Dear Jim,

We ALL would like Morrissey to appear in our commercials.

    Sincerely,
