As for Morrissey actually playing I think it is very doubtful he will not want to upstage Boz on his first solo show. I think that he may appear and listen to a few songs and then leave.

and say that Moz won't show up at all....or would be backstage well hidden if he did. because even if he were there for a few songs, he is smart enough to know that many people are going just to lie in wait for his appearance which would completely ruin Boz's little acoustic set.

Jesus Christ, the show was completley awesome. Boz is truly a great guitarist. The "Rambling Mayberries" opened up for Boz at 9 and finished by 10. He came out around 11:10 or so and played great stuff from the beginning of his carrear, and also played a handful of Morrissey songs. Which included these in the exact order:

Why Don't You Find Out For Yourself

Jack The Ripper (all the lyrics at the end as well)

        Lost (Just the first notes)

        Cosmic Dancer

The More You Ignore Me The Closer I Get

The Harder You Push Me The Farther I Go (Bill Nye Parody)

***KITT*** this was a surprise to everyone, he mentioned that this was a song left unfinished from The Maladjusted album. He sang two verses of the song, and the chords on the song is absolutley amazing, kind of reminded me of a Quija Board esque type of sound.

        Now My Heart Is Full

After the show ended around 12:30 pm, he went outside and signed autographs and took pictures with fans. I heard his wife Linda, talk about Boz going to Vegas this weekend for the rockabilly festival over there "VIVA LAS VEGAS", which will be great to him see him again. Thats all that I know as of now. There was someone filming the whole show from the balcony, I wonder if I could get a copy of it, let me know anyone.

The whole show was fantastic!! He did great with the Morrissey songs esp. The More You Ignore...for clarification, he hadn't planned on playing Jack the Ripper...someone yelled it out, he said something in disbelief, started to play it, stopped, but then went ahead through the full song beautifully...this brought the crowd to a loud roar. The new song, Kit, was wonderful...the recorded version apparently has strings and an orchestra behind it (so said Boz).

When Boz said he was going to play a song from the Maladjusted sessions that never made it onto the album, I thought, "Ugh! Why didn't I bring a pen to write this down?" So, sorry, I didn't get all the lyrics to "Kit". But they weren't the greatest lyrics (although certainly in Morrissey's style), which is perhaps why the song was left out. It said something (vaguely) like this:

"The pictures must all come down
              Now you're 28
Oh, for Christ's sake [no, I'm not making that line up!]

              [blah blah--a lot of Moz-esque type "oh"ing and "ooh"ing]
              Kit Kit
Why don't you give us a smile?
              Kit

              The cigarette butts must go..."

That's all I can remember semi-accurately. Hopefully someone recorded it or wrote the lyrics down. At this point any new Moz song is great, even if it wasn't good enough for an album put out almost 4 years ago!

Anyway, Boz mentioned the rumored song "Melanie" right before launching into "Kit." He said that it definitely wasn't a song of Moz, even though it was a good song.

Jack the Ripper was great, a certain highlight. He said it was a very special song for him because it was the first song he wrote for Moz that Moz recorded. During the "More You Ignore Me" Boz sort of made fun of Morrissey during the "let me in...oh let me in..." part, during which he sort of got Morrissey's crooning-type voice...it was very funny. "Why Don't You Find Out" sounded great as well. Although Boz didn't write the song himself, he said he "saved it from becoming a rock song." Which is an interesting thought.

Even Boz's non-Moz songs were great--I loved "High Rise Flat." He is a great guitar player AND singer. The whole evening was a bit like VH1's "Storytellers" series. Boz told the stories behind the songs while he drank one and a half bottles of wine. But it was really great--Thanks, Boz!!

In the most awkward fashion, our conversation started off with me pointing out to him that he had paint on his jeans. From there we talked a bit about what he had in store for the show. The guy is a really nice fella, and down to earth. Right before the show started Moz had called in to find out about parking and to make arrangements for his entrance. However he was later informed that it would be difficult for him to make an appearance do to the low staff on security and the sheer multitude of Moz fans at the show. That would have made a disaster of the show. Overall, the show was excellent, especially with the few T-Rex songs he played.

It was Boz, his guitar, us and two bottles of wine (That went down his throat in no time) Mr.Boorer took the time to sing a song that he wrote while he was on tour with Morrissey not too long ago, it was for his father who has passed some months ago, it was surely a respective tune. He also played a song that really caught my attention, it was a song that he wrote for a fellow bandmate who passed on from heavy intoxication, I believe the name of it was "Save me a stool at the bar." Well, it was truly an amazing event, I'll be there for any other solo gig, you are amazing Boz Boorer.

I mean, this guy deserves a bit more respect than to play jukebox to a crowd 4/5's full of rock-a-billy revivalists from los angeles in cuffed jeans and greasy quiffs. when that lout screamed for "jack the ripper," it came off like, "hey boz, we don't give a fuck about the song you just sang about your friend who died from a beer-induced coma, we want to hear morrissey songs." this is all funny becasue there's a post above mine that describes the crowd as being calm. i suppose it is when the same crowd is usually par for a few fights by the stage, pseudo-greasers pawing at their "old-lady's" breasts and asses, and a stabbing in the parking lot for good measure. i'm all for an enthuisastic crowd at a gig, but when it's a one-man acoustic show, a little has got to give. again, boz was in fine form and i'd be the first to buy a decent bootleg cd of last night's show, but something about the morrissey-related southern california crowd needs to improve. i'm sure this post will garner flamebait and troll marks (whatever they mean, i'm still not sure--david t. or whoever runs this site might want to choose more appropriate words), but i'm sure there are at least a few longtime fans (not just those who got into morrissey when he hired a rock-a-billy band for "your arsenal") that feel slightly the same way. this is not a post to harshy bash anyone inparticluar (believe me, i could on for days about that opening band), but i just can't get over the disapointment over last night's scene. so let the simple and easy insults begin, but it'll be difficult to disprove me.

I was next to boz mom through the whole ninght. She explain to me how he had a sour throat. I was kind of nice to know to that his mom supports him on all he does. She was sigining along all the songs and yelling at boz to sign certain things or to explain certain things. For any one who was there she was the lady that when up in stage to put the tabel and a place a bottle of wine and a glass. It was an excellent show.
