Dave Collins writes:

The U.S. based top Smiths / Morrissey band, The Sweet & Tender Hooligans embark on their first U.K. tour in September.

They kick off in London on Sat 8th September at the legendary Underworld, Camden Town, London NW1 (promoter: Flag Promotions) before moving to the East Midlands area of the U.K, playing another top venue, The Charlotte, Oxford Road, Leicester on Sun 9th September.

A couple of rest days then they travel to the north of the country, playing The New Roscoe, Leeds, Yorkshire on Thurs 13th September, before travelling to the spiritual home of every Smiths fan, Manchester on 14th Sept.!

Their final gig of the tour is at The Star & Garter, Manchester (close to Manchester Piccadilly station), a venue that hosts a regular Smiths night...

Oh boy, the carnage that will take place is going to be monsterous. Think about it, if a real band like Low gets booed and hissed just for attempting a cover version of "Last Night I Dreamt...," what chance do these imposters have. I almost wish I could go and see what happens at these gigs, but I hate the sight of blood. Do you the girls from MorrisseyTour.com are going to stalk them around the UK like the did to dear old Moz? Oh well, it'll be a nice vacation for the boys from east los angeles anyway. Bon Voyage, Sweet and Tender Pelicans.

Just some news about a tribute band, are we on elvis-solo.com

What next? Impersonator contest, quiff battle, karaoke night, playing wheelchair basketball.

I'm bored by Morrissey nowadays, he says he doesn't have a contract, but i bet he doesn't have the beginning of a song.

But you have to go back to work boy, because spending lazy days at Gucci's store will let you without a quid soon.

        What happened to Sadie? (Score:0)
I thought the Sweet and Tender Hooligans abandoned this moniker to become "Sadie"? They are much better playing their own songs than tired Smiths crap that should be buried and forgotten about.

As a Brit I am quite looking forward to seeing The Sweet and Tender Hooligans play live in the UK. It will be good to go out and listen to some decent music for a change even though they are only a tribute band.

I've been fortunate enough to see the Hooligans dozens of times and can honestly say, after having seen hundreds of rock concerts over the years, they're one of the best live acts around. I defy anyone who would love to hear Smith's music live, sounding as it was meant to sound, to not love this band and have a fantastic time at their shows. The U.K. audiences are in for a treat. Hooligans shows are a celebration of the music people who log on to this web page love the most. That's all good!

we all know what happened the last time a band tried to go into Moz's hometown playing his stuff. Low got the royal flush for it, can you imagine what they are going to do to a karoake singer and his band of jockers?
Jose, note to self: bring goggles, a broom, and some fries because you don't want to lose an eye from the flying bottles, or slip on the broken glass on the floor. Oh yeah, the fries....well with all the tomatos that will undoubtedly be thrown, you might want something to sop up all that ketchup!

Think about how the man you admire expresses himself through his beautiful, poetic lyrics and then take a look at your own UGLY and MALICIOUS form of self-expression. Again, it is SAFE to SAY that Morrissey would be really appalled to know that he has fans who THINK and TALK like that. Knowing this would probably make him reconsider continuing to seek a record deal because he could take no joy in continuing to make music for people with such UGLY minds.
