The band, Face To Face, covers "What Difference Does It Make" on their new cd, Standards and Practices on Vagrant Records. It's an..o.k..version, nothing thrilling. Just get it off Napster while you still can. Since it's a cover album, they also do niffty versions of Psychedelic Furs, INXS, Jam and Ramones songs. Rock n'roll.

    Wonderful Cover... (Score:1)
it's in keeping with the energy and punkness of the original.

Their other covers were nicely done, as well.

Over the years The Smiths have been covered by countless performers ad artists. I found Face to Face's version by accident as I was looking for live Smiths mp3's on napster. Their version of this song is the best one I have ever heard...I don't think there is any better. Most covers stray away from the formula of what makes the song so truely Morrissey/Smiths-esque. The guitar playing is great and the singer even does the trademark Morrissey Falsetto at the end. I say "Well done friends. Great effort."

This is no 'NEW' news to me. My Cousin Josh and I gets backstage pass to their concerts when they are around town. Not to the fact, that we are physically related to the bands lead singer. And he pretty much knows that I am a Smiths/Morrissey fan. Him, his brother-in-Law, my cousin Josh and I hangs about in each others household and talk constantly about Music. So to me, i knew from the beginning.....

the cover version is rather old but the collection that it is appearing on is seeing its first US domestic release. that is what is "new" about it. "standards and practices" is a collection of covers, some old, some not.
