HAPPY BIRTHDAY SANDIE 54 TODAY; SANDIE SHAW

SIXTIES pop sensation Sandie Shaw is 54 today.

The Dagenham-born mum-of-three first topped the charts at 17. Her hits include Always Something There To Remind Me and Eurovision winner Puppet On A String.

She revived her career in the '80s by teaming up with pal Morrissey.

Morrissey had this special message for her: "Happy birthday Sandie."

I wonder, are they still friends? I thought Morrissey disliked her, and that he considered her to be a "cold" person, and so forth. (At least that's what he said in some interview from 97, I think.)
Anyway, som of the singles she recorded in the sixties were great! And yes, "Puppet on a string" is one of the best.

Morrissey and Sandie are currently recording together. They have been in close contact since September of 2000, when they spent time together for the first time in years. The song has a working title of "Who Knew" and will most likely NOT be included on the next Morrissey disc. Word has it that it may be used for an upcoming British film.
