The Manchester Evening News (6th Feb) has a feature on Damon Gough (aka Badly Drawn Boy). The Manchester artist won last years Mercury Music Prize and best newcomer of the year for the magazine Q. During the article, Damon, aged 31, states 'It was The Smiths who made me fall in love with music but I was only 20 when I started writing my own material and spent the next few years playing in bands which never went anywhere.'

A wonderful album which is unlike anything out at this time (i.e., no radiohead/travis vibe here). At the Badly Drawn Boy performance here in L.A., Damon made it a point to thank Johnny Marr for inspiring him to play the guitar, which you can hear on quite a few of the songs on "Hour of the Bewilderbeast". A refreshing album.

I know they covered 'Oscillate Wildy' for a Peel Session couple of years ago ... unfortunately I lost the tape where I had recorded it. Anyone got a copy?

Badly drawn boy are dreadfully mediocre, and how dare all of you out there cloud up this site with info on them. They are the abyss of all guitar bands out right now. If I see there disc in a record store, I'll take it to the back and fart on it.
