"Stop Me..." used on ABC "World News Now"

I was surprised not only to find myself awake at 4 AM (est) but to be hearing the tender strains of The Smiths on ABC's World News Now, an overnight news program. They used "Stop Me..." in conjunction with footage of animals in their natural habitats while the nation's weather and temperatures scrolled along the bottom of the screen. Nothing huge, but a nice, tiny surprise nevertheless.

Several years back, when I had no job and used to stay up all night, I would catch that program on occasion. Once, as they were listing the weather for various cities, one locale in particular caught my eye: "Cicely, Alaska."

Cicely only exists as the fictitious setting for the show, "Northern Exposure."

    Someone's goofin' around in there!

I haven't heard a Smith's song here on any programs or commercials, but I did here a Cranes' song on one local commercial...I got all goose-bumpy and happy. It was great. I'm sure I would feel the same it were a Smiths' song.

Though, every now and then I will catch the Smiths being played on the radio...then I get that great feeling. :-)
