Jobriath master tapes found

I just got this bit of news in via the Jobriath mailing list:
Warner Brothers has now found the master tapes in their vaults. Seems when they took over Elektra they transferred the master tapes to their place.

They are demanding £5000 for the rights to the Jobriath lps. Rob feels the amount is more than one of the small reissue type labels would be willing to pay. It's a roadblock we hope to be able to clear but for now it's the reason for a lack of progress. Thankfully via MP3s and Napster Jobriath's music continues to circulate unfettered by a label's greed.

They make this dude out to be a magician. Who the hell is he? Houdini? Look, i'm not trying to down this guy (maybe I am), but I don't buy this "he is rumored to be alive" crap. Either he's the one who's dead, or it's his music career. Last time I seen something this foolish was that whole "Makaveli" thing.

Well, Jobriath is a glam rock singer from the early seventies, actually the American Bowie to many, but not exactly....he wrote some great songs like "I am a man","take me I'm yours", etc. Morrissey is one of his most beloved fans....but like a thunder he came and went.....pressumed to have died of Aids in the late 80's.

        The end.
