Meeting with Gary Day
Steve writes: While walking through the local Arndale shopping centre I met none other than Gary Day! I went over and shook his hand and he was happy to talk to me for a while about Mozzer and his other projects. He was very enthusiastic about the Clash tribute band he's playing in with Spike, and his own solo album that's soon to be released (he described it as "psychobilly", with him on lead vocals). He also said he hopes to have his own website set up soon. Unfortunately, he confirmed there is no new news on the Morrissey front (record deal or tour). He was a really genuinely nice guy, who was more than happy to spend a few minutes chatting with a fan.

Meeting Alain Whyte/Gary Day and Morrissey
dean-in-Toronto writes: Meeting Morrissey...Still in shock...I met Alain Whyte and Gary Day (Feb. 2000) in the Guitar Center music store in Chicago sitting down on small amplifiers trying to work out music from the Smiths classic "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now". Alain handed me the guitar and I played my rendition of "Now My Heart is Full" (at least the Intro). They were both nice and quite chatty. At the time I was not aware that Morrissey was playing Chicago that weekend (2 shows). The next day I walked into Virgin Megastore on Michigan Ave. only to lay my eyes upon the blistering sight of Morrissey rummaging through CD's. I made my way over and told him that I was a huge fan and that I saw half his band in the music store the previous day. We chatted and I was amazed how much he blushes. I told him I know every word of his songs and in typical Moz fashion he replied "So do I..." and laughed. What a treat...This was one of the most amazing weekends in my life.

Meeting Alain
John Emett writes: [about a month ago] while looking at records at Vinyl Fetish on Melrose (Los Angeles) I was lucky enough to run into Alain Whyte. He was very nice and happy to met fans. Anyways we talked a bit and I asked about any work being done with Morrissey and he basically said "no", that it sucks right now because there is no manager. That was all he really had to say about Morrissey. He was delivering some cds of some psychobilly music he made with Gary.

When will I meet Morrissey? (Score:0)
I must admit, I'm very jealous of all of you who met Morrissey. Despite a highly respected and powerful connection I have in the L.A. music industry, Moz backed out letting me meet him even though Marsha (who was Moz's manager-who knows now!) tried to arrange a brief meeting. I flew to the Chicago and Akron concerts this past Feb. believing I was going to meet him. Of course, he backed out. Obviously, he doesn't like pre-arranged meetings. My ill fortune doesn't in any way effect the way I feel about Morrissey, he's still the best. At least I recieved an autograhed picture of him from his manager via Federal express and in Chicago, Alaine gave my girlfriend his guitar pick in between songs. But I must meet him one day just to face him and thank him personally for his music. Still, I love to hear these brief encounters Moz fans have with him--please keep sharing your experiences. One day I will meet him at last. Yours Truly, Hated for loving.

Can someone do me the favor of seeing if that cd shop is selling that disc yet? Tried to e-mail 'em from their crap site (www.vinylfetishrecords.com) but both addresses bounced. their number is (323)935-1300, I would call 'em, but it would be long distance :-)
