At the NYC Polecats show w/Alain on guitar they did "What Difference Does It Make?" Alain sang, and very well, especially the high notes. he said this was the song that made him want to be with Morrissey's band, because when he heard this song when he was in school he realized that Morrissey was one of the great underdogs like Buddy Holly

...When asked for some tour info, he had none - said he just heard about the 2 southern dates recently.

we have a few things that could be happening here:

    1. His old band really doesn't know about it, and are being replaced with another group....probably an ugly group he found playing cajun music in some dive in Louisiana.
    2. His old band doesn't know about it because Moz decided to sing all of his songs accompanied by a Fisher-Price boom box and a karaoke mic.
    3. Morrissey is now doing spoken word.
    4. The venues have mistakenly booked Bill Morrissey, twangy folk singer.
    5. The band was told to act incredibly dumb about it or Moz would personally hunt them down and use their carcass as a bathmat.

while suzanne's theory may be correct, let's hope all is well for these southern shows. i just paid quite a bit of money for extremely good tickets for the clearwater, florida show and i have been waiting for this for a long while.
anyway, does anyone know of an existing recording of this polecats' gig? after hearing alain do the last bit of "everday is like sunday" on the "live in dallas" video i would much like to hear his moz cover...

Are you sure it was being an underdog which made Alain link Moz to Buddy Holly, and not the fact that Morrissey looked identical to HIM in the video? It was either him or "Where's Waldo"!
