 Simon writes: I just heard that Morrissey will be doing some Los Angeles shows in Oct or Nov. The venues have not been announced as of yet. Should be announced shortly.

jesse writes: I saw Morrissey here in Tempe, Arizona on the first show of the 1999 tour. As I was standing in line at Boston's (to see Weezer) on the Tuesday before last, someone who worked at the venue saw my Mozz shirt and said in passing "Morrissey's coming back here in October." I wish I had found out more details. I don't know if that means he'll be coming back to the Phoenix area, or if he's playing at Boston's itself. Has anyone else heard about this?

    This is fairly defident, from a promoter, GoldenVoices, apparently who will be involved in at least two shows. The two shows are rumored to be in LA and Las Vegas. Believe it or not, you heard it here first.

      this is something that i too heard but i thought it was just a rumor. a friend of mine told me her dads friend (who is a scalper) had told her "hey morrissey is coming back later this year" now that it seems everyone else is hearing so too im getting too excited!!!

          As I had previously posted, there's a rumor going around my town, from different sources, that a Morrissey will be in town around October 17th. Yuma, AZ is not big or too small but this would definitely be a headliner. Yuma is about 2 1/2 hours from both San Diego and Phoenix. The Civic center is rather big, not huge but bigger than last year's Club Rio in Tempe. It would be a dream come true but we'll have to wait and see. There is many Morrissey fans from around this area, including Mexico so it would be interesting to see who comes down. Let's hope it is THE MORRISSEY showing up and not some other person!

            Oh my.....I live in the Tempe area, and all I can say is that I hope he chooses an alternate venue. Although I would follow him anywhere and would be more than happy to go to Yuma if necessary. ;)

            BTW: I believe that Boston's is now the "Have A Nice Day Cafe"

                Moz in AZ (Score:1)
                I attended a gig at the Web Theater in downtown Phoenix and think it is ideal for a Morrissey concert. It has the nice feel of a fairly old theater with a sloped floor and everything. Reminded me of a place you would see in a place like San Francisco, not Phoenix. Too bad the group playing the venue when I was there was the Cult....I know, bring the heat.

                Anyway, I think Morrissey would enjoy this venue much more than the Rio, it has some class...

                  If he really has begun to start recording at Wool Hall in Bath, perhaps he's getting a bit Smiths nostalgic- this is the studio where the Smiths recorded their last album. Will these rumored sessions produce songs similar to those in the Smiths' canon?

                  I really hope that this is true because it sounds like good news, but it does bring to mind some questions:

                  1. Why would the band travel to the U.K. to lay down tracks, when they have spent most of the last couple of years in the American southwest?

                  2. There hasn't been any news of Mozzer signing a contract with a label yet, unless he is doing the independent thing (we can hope).

                  Oh well, hope springs eternal.

                    Jam's apparently contacted the House Of Blues here in Chicago about booking Morrissey in November. A friend of mine works at the HOB and mentioned it on Friday night. We thought he was just f*u*cking with us, but given all the other stuff on here, I'm thinking he wasn't. I'll be seeing him this evening, so I'll know more tomorrow.

                      I agree with the previous post that Rio was not the venue to see a Morrissey show... but the show was one of the best shows (in my opinion) last year.

                      I too am hoping that Morrissey will return to Phoenix. Yuma would be a interesting place to see Moz... I still would go. If I can drive to Boise, I think I can make Yuma.

                      Suggestion to AZ Moz fans... If enough calls and emails were directed to Evening Star, they might book a gig in Phoenix.

                                Morrissey in Houston? (Score:1)
                                OK, I just heard a rumor from someone at work today that Morrissey may be playing the Aerial theater in Houston sometime in November. The person who told me heard this from a semi-reliable source, Bruce, the owner of Record Rack and Number's nightclub here in Houston. Anyone else hear anything about this? Post if so.
