My sentiments entirely: how could Mr. Kydd discover anything of Oscar Wilde's that wasn't already discovered by either Merlin Holland or anyone coming from an academic background? And as I said in the below message, if one has been to The Andrew Clark Library, one does find THE Wilde treasures!!! BUT, in order to have access to these materials one has to be a scholar; I was lucky enough to get passed that through a fellow Wildean friend, who is a graduate of UCSF. Although I only spent a few hours in the library, it is not possible to see everything within the card catalogue. Someday I hope to return...I could easy LIVE there!

Well, this IS news. I am assuming that they are referring to the Andrew Clark Library when they say the University of California? Had I known of it back in '84 when I visited the library (what Wilde treasures are there!) I would have asked to see it too!!! To hold in your hands a paper that Oscar had written upon is almost an out of body experience - one I shall always remember!
