Something useful or useless...
Yet another Morrissey/Smiths mention in Spin magazine (August 2000). Frequently, they keep the moz flame alive by making side references to him in their articles and reviews. Seems they're always comparing new bands to "the way the Smiths used to sound if..." Here's what they said in their "The Hit List--New Artists" section.
Aden, "Hey 19" (teenbeat)-Wonder what the Smiths would have sounded like if Morrissey had had access to Zoloft? Some have compared Aden frontman Jeff Gramm to the Moz--but unlike that world-class brooder, Gramm's sweet, simple, cynicism-free guitar-pop doesn't make you want to off yourself or others. Boasting a fan club that reads like a Who's Who of gentle indie rock (members of Seam, Aluminum Group, and the Sea and Cake), Aden are the most talked-about band you've never heard of.
